In this one-man drama, see Shakespeare’s character, King Lear, as a vulnerable man who is betrayed by those he trusts. Be a part of this amazing afternoon with Shakespeare: The King
Using Shakespeare’s text, John Basinger’s script magnifies King Lear by isolating him from other characters. Hence, the audience gains a heightened perspective of his humanity. This one-character performance explores legacy and asks us how we pass on that which we consider to be of value. The play will capture the hearts of those who love Shakespeare and those who love fine acting.
A rarefied piece of theater, it is an experience you won’t forget. The King raises more questions than it answers.
Sally Kaczynski is providing this authentic performance to you as a fundraiser for the Courthouse Center for the Arts and as part of Sally’s Legacy Project.
Please join us on this special day and celebrate Scott Meikle in the role of King Lear.
