Poppy Champlin,  a national headliner comedian giving a comedy class at The Courthouse.

Do you entertain your family and friends with jokes, one-liners, or witty comebacks? Do people tell you that you’re funny or that you should be on stage? Have you ever thought that you would like to try your hand at stand-up comedy? Well, here is your chance to find out if you really have what it takes.

Under the tutelage of local comedian, Poppy Champlin, you will learn how to write, think, and deliver the funny. You will write a five-minute monologue and deliver it to a live crowd at The Courthouse with other professional comedians. Poppy will have you entertaining the audience to tears laughing.

Poppy Champlin is a nationally known professional comedian.  A Rhode Island native with a BFA from URI Theatre, her credits include HBO, Showtime, Comedy Central, Oprah and Joan Rivers. Poppy has opened for such comics as Ray Romano, Denis Leary, Bill Maher, Bill Hicks and Rosie ODonnell.  Her club appearances range from Gotham Comedy Club in NYC, the Comedy Cellar, and The Improv. She produces her own touring show called The Queer Queens of Qomedy and travels across the country with it.  She also performs on cruise ships.
