Our Story – The Pete Silva Project formed in the summer of 2016, with Pete and his old pals Paul Furtado (drums and percussion) and Bruce Zarembka (keyboards and vocals).  Over coffee in a busy Dunkin Donuts, Pete laid out the band’s framework and mission: to create a band that would bring back the glory days of rock and roll, when there was music heard on every corner, and every show was a celebration of life and love.  Paul and Bruce got it immediately and became the nucleus of the project.  One week later Bill Lehourites (guitar, slide guitar, and vocals) signed on, becoming the glue to the sound and show AND THE EXPERIENCE Pete envisioned.  Within a few short months, the band started to enjoy a huge buzz on social media, and it became apparent that to translate to the bigger vision, Pete needed a bigger sound and a bigger band.  And it happened with the addition of Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame member John Baldaia (guitar, bass, and vocals) and locally renowned singer Adrienne West (backup/solo vocals and percussion).  Here we are today – The Pete Silva Project – recreating the Experience of the Big Bang of Rock and Roll with Pete’s original music and select powerful classics that define the music of the Baby Boomer generation, and a show filled with energy, empathy, and sweaty, transcendent passion.

Pete Silva – Singer/Songwriter/Vocalist/Guitar/Bass/Harmonica Pete is a veteran of the Southern New England music scene.  He’s been a weekend jock at WHJY/94HJY Providence for more than twenty-five years.  In addition to his regular air-work, he hosts the long-running local music show, Soundcheck on 94HJY.  Besides songwriting, Pete writes poetry, teaches literature, and builds New England stone dry-walls in his spare time.

Adrienne West – Backup and Solo Vocal/Percussion Adrienne is a first call, in-demand singer all over New England.  Her absolutely incredible vocals are on countless recordings, and she has worked with such Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame inductees such as John Cafferty, and Ken Lyon and the Tombstone Blues band.  Along with her spectacular contributions to The Pete Silva Project, Adrienne also fronts her own band, Longshot Voodoo.

Paul Furtado – Drums and Percussion Paul’s style is diverse.  He’s traveled the Northeast with an eight-piece horn band called No Exit, moving on to a hard rock band called The Beagles, and jumping just as deftly into the blues with Blueswagon  This diversity of styles, and his rigorous focus and discipline, is truly the steady, indispensable heartbeat of the band.  Paul is also a master mechanic, and known as “The Automan,” for his long running guest spot with 94HJY’s Paul and Al.

Bruce Zarembka – Keyboards and Vocals  Bruce is a mainstay in the local music scene, providing keyboards, lead vocals, and backing vocals to countless acts in his long career.  He spent years doing regional shows and festival work on the college circuit and the upper echelon of nightclubs, and continues to be a staple of the Southern New England club scene.  Bruce is also a loving and generous philanthropist, heading The Lauren Zarembka Foundation.

Bill Lehourites – Guitar, Slide Guitar and Vocals To say Bill is on everyone’s first call list is an understatement.  He is the consummate “I know a guy” musician, whose network equals his immense talent.  There’s a reason for this. Bill can be found almost every night fronting a plethora of band, jams, and open mics.  He continues to lead his own band and is busy doing audio engineering and recording when he gets a spare minute.  And if that isn’t enough, Bill is an amateur expert on brewing craft beer, as well as wine and spirits.

John Baldaia – Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bass and Vocals  John brings his inimitable guitar prowess and a superb talent for the vocal arrangement to the band night after night.  And it’s no wonder.  John is an inductee in the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame as a founding member of The Wild Turkey Band.  He has countless shows on his resume, and it’s easy to hear why when he plays and sings with the band.  John is also a musical director and music teacher, and with his can-do spirit, he is an outstanding brewer of craft beer.
